Age Requirements:

The minimum age requirements are: (refer to Position Preference)

  • 14 years old for CIT (Counselor in Training, non-paid staff) – there are two CIT sessions
  • 16 years old for full-time paid staff, or 15 years old, having completed one season as CIT (Paid staff under 16 years must provide a work permit from their home state)
  • 18 or 21 years old for directorship/leadership positions

Length of employment for 2018 summer season is:

  • CIT staff – TBD
  • Staff 16 to 20 years old – TBD
  • Staff over 21 (or leadership staff) – TBD

Membership Requirements:

Applicants must be registered members of the Boy Scouts of America or agree to become registered before employment begins. All staff members must complete Youth Protection raining and all training necessary for your assigned position.

As a camp staff member of the Aloha Council, you will be expected to set an example of excellence in Scouting, which includes the wearing of the assigned uniform, and adhere to standards of personal appearance. Staff members are expected to be mentors and role models for our Campers, and as such, the principles of the Scout Oath and Law must be practiced as a way of life.

Applying for a summer camp job is easy! 1) Download the application, and 2) Mail it in!

All applicants will have an interview with the Camp Director, who will then determine the placement status of the applicant.

Salary is based on position responsibility with consideration given to the individual’s experience. Review the list of jobs, indicate three references, and complete the entire application. Two letters of recommendation are required for applicants that have not been employed in the past.

Every applicant who is employed will be required to submit a completed Health and Medical Record, W-4 and HW-4 forms, and an Employment Eligibility Verification (I-9) form. The I-9 form will require that you provide proof of your eligibility to work in the US, including your SSN card.

*Under the Hawaii Child Labor Law, a child labor certificate or “work permit” is required for working minors until they reach 18 years of age.
