Derby Dreams

The Pinewood Derby workshop allows Cub Scouts and their parents to have access to tools and assistance in crafting their Pinewood Derby car.  Parents must stay with their Cub Scout for this event, this is not a drop-off event.

Please bring a Pinewood Derby car kit with a design drawn on it.  If you do not have one, you will be able to purchase a kit at Scout Shop during this event. 

Cost $5 per Scout

Come anytime between 10am and 1pm to vist our Pinewood Derby stations:

• Design Station:

  • Speed Sketch Zone
  • Come with a design drawn on your Pinewood block or draw it on at this station

• Cutting Station:

  • Cut & Shape Zone
  • We will have volunteers with power tools to help cut the basic shape of your Scout's car - please note, fine details will need to be done by the Scouts and their families at home.

• Photo Station:

  • Speed Shot Studio
  • Snap a photo of your Scout with their car in progress

• Scout Shop:

  • Scout Supply Stop
  • Scout Shop has agreed to be open during this event to allow families to shop for all their Pinewood Derby needs

• Miscellaneous Fun Stations:

  • Speed Test Strip (for testing cars)
  • Weigh-In Station (for final car adjustments)

Please RSVP to ensure we have enough volunteers and tools for the day.

Scoutshop will be open from 10 am to 1 pm on this day to allow families to purchase Pinewood supplies for their cars.
