Memorial Day Good Turn - Oahu

Due to COVID-19 Aloha Council's Memorial Day Good Turn Project has been cancelled.  See below for how you can honor our Veterans this year!

#ScoutSalute Memorial Day Project for Scouts

Calling all Aloha Council Scouts to join Scouts from across the nation to build on the tradition of honoring our country’s fallen heroes this Memorial Day by posting digital tributes to our veterans, through the Veterans Legacy Memorial, in partnership with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. We are also asking Scouts to participate in the Scout Salute or the playing of taps during the National Moment of Silence.   At 3:00 pm, every Scout should salute the American flag from their driveway, sidewalk, or home in Scouting uniform and say the name of a fallen hero to honor them for their service.  At 3:01 p.m., all Scouts who play the bugle or horn are invited to play “Taps” from their homes in unison with others throughout their community.   Noah from Troop 325 will be playing taps live at 3:00 pm on our Scouting Hawaii facebook page.

Visit for a step-by-step guide on how to participate in this important effort. Post pictures and videos at #scoutinghawaii #ScoutSalute and #NoVeteranEverDies

Memorial Day Good Turn is the longest-running and biggest Scout service project on Oahu. Scouts decorate every grave at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific with flags and flower lei.
