2018 Recruitment and Family Scouting Overview for Packs
- Start by hosting a table at local elementary schools' Meet & Greets
- Packs conduct a registration event in August or September (guidebook to be distributed in July with tips for a successful event)
- Tell new families about the Adventure Day that your pack will be attending (expect a "Ticket to Adventure" style promotional flyer to be ready by end of July)
- Report back to your district membership team leader or executive on how many youth came and signed up
Get Excited for Adventure Day!
Adventure Day is the Cub Scout level recruitment event that your pack can use for both new and returning members! Scouts will enjoy fun STEM activities like slime making and water bottle rockets, while parents will get information and be able to sign up their kids. New Scouts can even work on their Bobcat rank by learning things like the Scout Oath and Law.
We have 5 Adventure Days, all on Saturdays--please plan on attending and helping at the most convenient one for you!
Program Planning Tools
As of June 1, packs are now able to become family packs and accept both boys and girls! To get all your questions answered, visit scouting.org/familyscouting. You can also contact our new Family Scouting Director, Christi Wetzel, at Christi.Wetzel@scouting.org or (808) 380-5434.
